I am interested in the way that simple actions can stimulate new understanding and insight. In this piece, I am exploring ways to raise awareness of the potential of growing food, particularly in urban environments, to a mass audience through practical action. The opportunity to grow your own food is an important freedom that is simply not available for many people, as a result of urban environments.
Freedom starts when we reclaim our public land and reconnect to our natural world.
As part of this practical action seedgreenaid is a DIY seed bomb kit, consisting of 3 biodegradable envelopes made with seeded paper. One holds soil, one holds seeds, and one houses the kit. The instructions are all written inside. I designed Seedgreenaids to encourage and help people regenerate their environment by secretly dropping them in various public places during their day-to-day routine.
Grow food everywhere and be free.
